Norris ‘happy with 99% of things’ but needs extra 1% to beat Verstappen
British Formula 1 driver Lando Norris has expressed his satisfaction with his performance and the progress of his team, but acknowledges that he needs to find that extra 1% to compete with the likes of Max Verstappen.
Despite having a strong start to the season and consistently finishing in the points, Norris believes there is still room for improvement in his driving and the setup of his car.
Speaking after the latest race, Norris said, “I am happy with how things are going, but to beat Verstappen and the other top drivers, I need to push myself even further.”
The McLaren driver has been one of the standout performers this season, impressing fans and pundits alike with his speed and consistency.
However, Norris knows that he cannot afford to rest on his laurels and must continue to work hard to close the gap to the front-runners.
“Verstappen is setting the standard at the moment, and if I want to challenge him for race wins and championships, I need to find that extra 1% in my performance,” Norris added.
With the next race just around the corner, Norris and his team are focused on making the necessary improvements to their car and strategy in order to stay competitive at the sharp end of the grid.
As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Norris to see if he can find that extra edge and take the fight to Verstappen and the other frontrunners.
Only time will tell if Norris can make the leap from being a promising talent to a genuine championship contender, but one thing is for sure – he won’t stop pushing until he reaches his goal.
